The Power of Your Words
Throughout the New Testament we marvel at the miracles that Jesus performed. He healed the sick, made the blind see, turned water to wine, and performed many other mind-boggling miracles. Have you ever thought about how many of those miracles were performed by using words? Think of when Jesus healed the man of his leprosy. “Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. ‘I am willing,’ he said. ’Be clean!’ Immediately he was cleansed of his leprosy.” (Matthew 8:3) Think of when Jesus calmed the storm. “…Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.” (Matthew 8:26) Now let’s go way back to the creation of the world. “And God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light.” (Genesis 1:3) When God speaks, in Heaven or on earth, He means business.
