What is my Purpose?

In my last blog, I shared with you about Nature and Worship and how nature reflects God. In that blog I briefly talked about how we were created to worship. In this blog, I will be diving deeper into our purpose.
What is my purpose?
This is a question many people ask themselves at least once in their lifetime. Many of those people try to answer this question the wrong way and find themselves believing something that isn’t really the truth. A good place to look for truth in any situation is the Bible. We find many answers to this question through the life of Jesus.
Of course, you have your job. Is that my purpose? Not quite. God put you in your job for a reason, but you still have a bigger purpose. Actually, you have many purposes:
1.       To Worship God
2.       To Serve
3.       To Share the Gospel
If you have read my last blog, you know that you were created to worship God. Your second purpose is to serve. Who? Others. Look at the life of Jesus. He washed the disciples’ feet. He is the King of Kings and yet he washed others’ feet. Before we go any further, this is a fact that you might want to write down in your brain. Jesus came to be the example. So, this doesn’t mean you have to go around and ask people if you can wash their feet. You need to go around and help others. Helping someone is a small task for us, but can make a huge difference. Serving others is something we have to train ourselves to do. Our human minds think that others should help us, when really, we should be helping others.
Your third purpose is to share the Gospel. First of all, what in the world is the Gospel? It’s the good news that Jesus came to earth as a human, died a horrible death, and came alive once again! It sounds easy, but it can take a lot of courage. What do I do if I know nothing about the Gospel and I’m learning? Well, really everyone is still learning! No one will ever know everything there is to know about God. But if you aren’t comfortable telling someone about the Gospel yourself, invite that person to church!
I hope this post has encouraged you, and helped you understand more about your purpose.
