What God Says About You: RIGHTEOUS
As many of you know, this is my
second post in my first series: What God Says About You. After you have been
saved, you get a new identity in Christ. The Holy Spirit comes to live inside
you and you become a new person. In this series I’m digging deeper into this
new identity. My last post was about being Chosen. But in this post, I want to
talk about something else God says about you. He says you are RIGHTEOUS. First,
the definition of RIGHTEOUS is: Acting in accord with divine or moral law: free
from guilt or sin. There was only one man to walk the face of the earth free
from guilt or sin. His name was Jesus. The same Jesus died a horrible death and
rose from the grave for us so that we could live eternity in Heaven.
Whether you are a Christian
(someone who has been saved) or not, your flesh is sinful because you were born
into a world that was and is sinful. But when you accept Christ as your Savior,
the Holy Spirit comes live inside your spirit. The Holy Spirit is RIGHTEOUS as
He is one of the three persons of God. So when He comes to live in your spirit,
your spirit becomes RIGHTEOUS.
But while your Spirit is RIGHTEOUS
and BLAMELESS, your flesh isn’t. You will still make mistakes even after you’ve
been saved. Only when you reach Heaven will you be completely free of sin when
you are sanctified and your body is left behind. But remember that when Jesus died on the
cross, He died for every single sin you have made and will make. So when the
enemy tries to make you feel guilty for a sin that you committed, you can
declare that you have been made RIGHTEOUS by the ONE TRUE GOD. You can declare
that you have been FORGIVEN and you have been made whole. Your RIGHTEOUSNESS is
your WEAPON. The enemy can never take that away from you, because you are RIGHTEOUS.
He himself bore our sins in his body on the
tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you
have been healed.

I
hope this encouraged and inspired you as well as many others.
