COVID-19


I haven’t posted in a while, but what better time to post than in this time that everyone is calling a crisis. It feels like there is no peace anywhere to be found. Everyone keeps saying that God is in control and that everything will be okay. But the number of COVID-19 cases seems to be rising constantly. Every time there is a new reported case, all kinds of fearful thoughts come into our minds. Will I get sick? Should I go to the store? What about my family? Are they safe? But Martin Luther King had a great quote that I want to share with you.

“You cannot keep birds from flying over your head, but you can keep them from building a nest in your hair.” –Martin Luther King

                The birds are your thoughts. The enemy uses your thoughts to make you start believing things that aren’t really true. You can’t keep thoughts from flying over your head, but you can choose what thoughts you want to dwell on.

“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things.” Philippians 4:8

                When you start feeling worried or anxious, remember to guard your mind. What I mean is this. God created us to think and have thoughts. But be sure you choose a worthy thought to take captive or dwell on. If you choose something that isn’t worthy or true to think about, the enemy can use that thought to wreak havoc on your Spirit. These thoughts can start growing weeds. Weeds of fear that are difficult to remove. But guarding your mind isn’t the only thing you can do. You can also:

1.       Pray – When you feel like you can’t do anything, you can still pray. God is always there, ready to hear your prayers. So please pray for those already infected. Pray that they would have peace and that they would come to know Christ as their Savior if they haven’t already. Pray that they would know that God is the ultimate healer. Also pray for those that aren’t infected. Pray they would have the same peace. The peace that nothing happens without God’s approval. REMEMEBER: When you pray, pray with authority. You are a Child of God. God has given you the gift of authority. So when you pray, don’t just ask God to clear the virus, COMMAND the virus to go in Jesus’ holy name. With God, you have more power in your weakest moment, than Satan does in his entire army in his strongest moment.

2.       Not Fear – Have no fear in death. If you are a Child of God, then you will live in Heaven with Christ. You can have PEACE in the valley of shadows, in your darkest time, in your weakest moment knowing you will live with Christ one day. As a Child of God, fear shouldn’t have a hold on you. You can have peace knowing God is in control. He is working in ways that we may never comprehend. Just know, He is always working for the good of those who love Him.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28
